Terrelle Pryor Has Commendable Prediction For The Oakland Raiders

By JL Herrera

After Week 6 and with a record of 2-6, Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor has the optimistic belief that the Silver and Black will still make the playoffs for the 2013 NFL Season.

It was reported on Monday that the young quarterback told CSNBayArea.com that his team will be back after taking a heavy loss to AFC West Rivals the Kansas City Chiefs.

"We have to come together and start creating," said Pryor. "We'll be back; 2-4; we'll get to the playoffs."

Pryor probably had the worst game in his career this past Sunday against the Chiefs at the loudest place in the NFL, Arrowhead Stadium. Against Kansas City, Pryor was sacked 10 times, picked three times, and threw one interception that was returned for a touchdown.

The quarterback accomplished 216 yards in passing with an early touchdown, but his ability to scramble and make plays was shut down after the first quarter.

in the end, Pryor and the Raiders only managed one touchdown against the Chiefs, which occurred in the first quarter. The final score was 24-7 in favor of Kansas City.

The Raiders offensive line had too many penalties and did not provide good coverage for Pryor.

Pryor tended to hold on to the ball too long in many of the plays that resulted in a sack. It seemed like Pryor was trying to be a hero in every play.

The Raiders had problems getting first downs on third. At one point in the game, the Oakland Raiders had a 3rd and 48 to go, which was ridiculous. Again, a result of the offensive line getting penalties and Pryor getting sacked.

The good thing about the loss to the Chiefs on Sunday was the fact that the Raiders held their undefeated rivals to a 7-7 tie at the half. However, the offense was already falling apart by the second quarter.

This has been the story for the Oakland Raiders this season when playing against top rated teams. So far, the Raiders lost to the Indianapolis Colts, the Denver Broncos, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Washington Redskins.

All except the Redskins are considered top rated teams in the NFL this season. The Redskins loss was a fluke in a sense, since Terrelle Pryor was out with a concussion, and Matt Flynn failed to show that he is a leader.

The two victories were against the Jacksonville Jaguars and the San Diego Chargers. Against the Chargers, Pryor showed promising potential, and it was a good victory.

Terrelle Pryor's confidence and optimism for the rest of the season could give the Raiders a nice boost, especially when the team comes back from its bye week, Week 7, to the slumping Steelers for Week 8 at home.

Pryor's attitude is admirable and shows leadership quality. In the end, his message is not to give up. One thing is for sure: if the Raiders go down with a losing season this year, they will go down swinging with Pryor at the helm.
