Bay Area Heat Wave To Linger Through The Week
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Hot and dry conditions are now expected to continue through Thursday in the San Francisco Bay Area, where an excessive heat warning remains in effect through Tuesday night, KPIX 5 meteorologist Brian Hackney said.

On Sunday, Gilroy set a high-temperature record reaching 100 degrees; that surpassed the previous high for the date of 98 set in 1999.
In San Francisco, temperatures were in the upper 70s and low 80s Sunday when as many as 1 million people gathered for the city's annual Gay Pride parade and celebration.
East Bay cities experienced highs in the mid to upper 80s and some inland valley communities saw temperatures hit triple-digits.
Temperatures in the South Bay were mostly in the upper 80s to upper 90s.
On Saturday, Livermore had one of the hottest Bay Area highs recorded, as the temperature there reached 104 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
The excessive heat warning was expected to remain in place through Tuesday, though if conditions persisted, the warning could be extended until Thursday, Hackney said.
