Television News Anchor Gets Busted By Highway Patrol And Takes A Selfie
SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDWEST (CBS SF) -- No road-trip of a lifetime would be complete without a throaty V-8 engine rumbling beneath a classic all-American sports car's curvy lines, tearing down a two-lane highway through the most picturesque scenery you can imagine, and inevitably seeing the red and blue flashing lights above the dice hanging from your rear-view mirror, then pulling over to find out how fast you were "really going" and getting a free speedometer calibration, and of course in 2014, capping it all off with the requisite "selfie."
The Wyoming Highway Patrol officer was very accommodating, but Bastida still got cited for not following a little-known state law about pulling into the far left lane while passing an emergency vehicle. For the record, Bastida was not breaking any speed limits in the KPIX 5-emblazoned Corvette. Well, at least not at the time.
This is summer vacation for KPIX 5 anchor Ken Bastida, in the '66 Corvette Stingray in the National Corvette Caravan, joining more than 6.000 cars on a trip to Bowling Green, Kentucky and The National Corvette Museum. If you recall from February of this year, this was the site of the devastating sinkhole that opened up to swallow eight priceless cars whole.
