Teens Arrested For Robbing Medical Pot From San Francisco Home
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Two teenagers were arrested Friday after allegedly robbing medical marijuana from a man who sells the drugs from his home in San Francisco's Richmond District, according to police.
Alameda residents Kevin Harvell II, 18, and Aivan Eugene Acala, 19, were arrested after police say they entered a home in the 400 block of Ninth Avenue and robbed a 24-year-old man selling medical marijuana around 1:30 p.m.
The man had placed an online ad for the marijuana Friday morning. He received a response and agreed to meet the suspects.
At around 1:15 p.m., two suspects arrived at the victim's apartment and the 24-year-old showed the two men into the living room where the marijuana was.
Harvell asked to use the bathroom, and when he returned he allegedly pointed a silver handgun at the victim and his roommate.
Harvell then took one bag of marijuana and Acala took two, police said. After they ran out of the apartment the victim called 911.
A Richmond Station police officer on a motorcycle saw the men running southbound on Ninth Avenue at Anza Street.
He followed the two men and saw them enter a 1991 red Toyota Celica at Ninth Avenue and Balboa Street. He ordered them out of the car.
Harvell and Acala were then taken into custody without incident and identified by the victim and his roommate as the suspects, police said.
Officers recovered the marijuana and loaded gun.
The two suspects were charged with robbery, burglary, illegal weapon possession, conspiracy, and other narcotic charges, police said. They remained in custody.
