San Mateo Teen Who Died In Bridge Fall Took LSD
SAN MATEO (AP) -- Canadian authorities say a San Mateo high school student who fell to his death during a school trip to Vancouver was on drugs that likely impaired his judgment.
A coroner's report released on Friday found that 17-year-old Daniel Cho was high on LSD when he climbed over a 4-foot-high fence near Vancouver's Capilano Suspension Bridge on June 6 and fell to his death. His death has been ruled an accident.
Mark Coleman with the Vancouver coroner's office says there was no evidence Cho intended to harm himself. He died of blunt force injuries suffered during the roughly 100-foot fall.
Cho was among more than 100 music students from Aragon High School on the trip.
Authorities say he and two other students took LSD during a bus ride before the group stopped at the bridge.
