Teen Turns Himself In After Video Of Armed San Jose Home Invasion Goes Viral
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- San Jose police say a 17-year-old has turned himself in after admitting he was involved in a home invasion captured on camera.
The boy was arrested Wednesday after an interview by robbery detectives, police said.
He is alleged to be one of two suspects armed with knives who entered a home in the Evergreen neighborhood on Friday just before 12:30 p.m.
Two adult residents in the home saw the intruders coming up the stairs and fled into a bedroom with a young child.
The victims first hid in the bedroom, one of them securing the door with her body, and then went into the bathroom and locked the door.
The suspects broke down the bedroom door and attempted to get the victims to open the bathroom door, but were unsuccessful. They fled before police arrived and no one was injured.
Police are looking for at least one other suspect.
The owner of the home decided to install the surveillance cameras after his home was invaded the first time.
