Tech Report: Report Shows Android Ahead Of Apple In Smart Phone Market
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — A new report on who's ahead in the smart phone competition shows not only is Android beating Apple in subscribers, but that consumers for Google's platform are more heavily influenced by price over the amount of apps provided.
ComScore's report on marketshare shows Android phones account for 52% of all smart phone subscribers— with Apple's share 32%.
Price and choice of apps appear to be high on the list of reasons to buy a particular device.
KCBS Tech Report:
The survey found that people who buy iPad tablets are more concerned about apps than about price and for Android owners it's vice versa, but only slightly more so.
Nonetheless apps and price are key to people's decision and beat out other considerations.
I was really surprised that Samsung has about 26 percent of the market share for its Android phones and LG is even beating Apple. So it appears they've got some serious competition, definitely more than I had expected.
