Tech Report: How Dangerous Is All That Floating Data?
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)— This week I'm reporting from Uruguay, where I took part in a panel discussion about the dangers of the data we leave behind on our cell phones, computers and other wireless devices.
Cell phones track who are friends are and the contacts we make through messages and calls and the information is being stored somewhere whether it's being retained for long periods of time is another issue, but it's going off to servers.
But it goes even deeper with the driverless cars Google is releasing. These cars are going to be going to be connected to the cloud as we go from place to place and it's going to happen in the next few years. It's going to record where we go and what surrounds us.

Then there are bio-metric issues with facial-recognition technology. You could walk up to a sign and it will eventually know who you are, but already knowing your gender, ethnicity and approximate age.
All this data is out there, but it's not all bad, but there's obviously precautions you should take and some dangers involved.
