Tech Report: Hewlett-Packard Working On Android-Run Tablet
PALO ALTO (KCBS) – Hewlett-Packard is planning on releasing a new tablet, which will run on Google's Android operating system.
As first reported by weblog ReadWrite, which focuses on technology news, reviews and analysis, HP will use Android for many of its upcoming mobile devices. The site reports that the first device will be a high-end tablet using an NVIDIA Tegra 4 chip.

Interestingly enough, in 2010, Hewlett-Packard spent $1.2 billion to acquire Palm, which already had a mobile operating system for tablets and smartphones in place. Microsoft also appears on the outs, even though it has been a longtime partner of HP when it comes to operating systems.
ReadWrite reports the tablet has "been in the works since before Thanksgiving." It's still unclear how the Hewlett-Packard tablets might fare, how it will distinguish itself in the ever-growing market.
