Tech Report: FBI Launches Missing Child App For Parents
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- The FBI has created it's first-ever app for parents.
KCBS Technology Analyst Larry Magid said it's a very basic program in the event a child goes missing.
KCBS' Technology Analyst Larry Magid:
You simply take a photo of your child and type in personal identifying information.
"You know, their gender, height, weight and any characteristics such as moles, scars anything like that and it stays on your phone. It doesn't go anywhere," said Magid.
In the unlikely event a child goes missing, Magid explains parents can easily send the app info to the FBI.
You can hear Larry Magid Tech Report Monday through Friday at 3:50pm on KCBS All News 740AM and 106.9FM.
