Tech Report: Election Day Apps
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - With election 2012 upon us, many predict it's going to be a squeaker. So everything from finding your polling place to following results becomes that much more important.
Here are 4 really good free apps for taking part in democracy:
- Best overall app: VoterHub
Non-partisan VoterHub app ranks as the go-to outlet for vital voter information. This one-stop voting tool provides a quick look at how to reach your designated polling place (in all 50 states), and includes a helpful "wait time" category so you know how long it should take to cast your ballot.
- CBS News or CNN apps for results
These are two serious news organizations on election night and each does a good job with mobile presentation with fast updates as results come in.
- SettleIt! as a position fact-checker
PoliticFact's app debunks the fluff and gives an accurate representation of candidates' stances on the issue backed by credible sources.
