Tanker Truck Crash Creates Big Fuel Spill On I-880 In Oakland
OAKLAND (CBS 5) -- A tanker truck crashed and overturned on Interstate 880 in Oakland Thursday afternoon, spilling as much as 1,000 gallons of fuel onto the highway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened about 12:45 p.m. along northbound 880 near 23rd Avenue, CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said.
While the truck was righted and removed from the crash scene by mid-afternoon. Crews were able to fully reopen the freeway around 5 p.m.
Bartlett said the extent of the truck driver's injuries were not immediately known, but he was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
No other injuries were reported.
