Suspicious Package In SF Portola Neighborhood Deemed Harmless
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A suspicious package reported Tuesday evening in San Francisco's Portola neighborhood has been deemed harmless, a police spokesman said.
The suspicious package was reported around 7 p.m. on Colby Street, a residential street just east of Louis Sutter Playground on the east side of John McLaren Park.
The Police Department's bomb squad responded to investigate the package and officers shut down nearby streets, police spokesman Sgt. Mike Andraychak said.
Around 8:45 p.m., the bomb squad determined the package posed no threat and reopened the streets, Andraychak said.
