Suspicious Package Found In Downtown SF Deemed Harmless
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Police and a bomb squad responded to a downtown San Francisco street Thursday afternoon to investigate a suspicious package, a police sergeant said.
Officers closed off the 200 block of Broadway, which is between Sansome and Battery streets, and police were able to determine that the duffel bag posed no safety hazard, Sgt. Michael Andraychak said.
A fire dispatcher said that a battalion chief, engine crew and medic were dispatched to 250 Broadway at 3:55 p.m.
The street was reopened around 4:30 p.m., although Andraychak said officers may have remained on the scene to complete their investigation.
