Suspicious Device In San Francisco's Mission District Deemed Non-Hazardous
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Police in San Francisco investigated a suspicious device for the second time in one day, this time near the western edge of the Mission District.
The police department's bomb squad rendered the device non-hazardous.
Around 8:15 p.m. Thursday, police said on social media that the suspicious device was found near the 100 block of Duboce Avenue -- where they issued a shelter-in-place order.
People were being asked to avoid the area.
An earlier incident reported at Seventh and Harrison streets shortly before 11 a.m. snarled traffic in the area for hours as investigators secured the scene and brought in a bomb-squad robot to ensure that a vehicle found with a suspicious note did not pose a threat to public safety.
