Suspects Sought In Marijuana Robbery Near Morgan Hill
MORGAN HILL (CBS SF) -- Santa Clara County sheriff's deputies are looking for several suspects who reportedly tied up victims and robbed them in unincorporated Morgan Hill Thursday morning.
Deputies responded to a 911 call of a possible kidnapping in the 10700 block of Hale Avenue around 7:15 a.m., according to the sheriff's office.
Victims at the home reported to deputies that four to six men extracted marijuana plants at the property, sheriff's officials said.
When two of the victims interrupted the theft, the suspects waved guns at them and then tied them up when a third victim arrived, according to the sheriff's office.
The suspects, men believed to be between 22 and 45 years old, were last seen going south on Hale Avenue in three cars described as a light-colored Toyota Sequoia, a brown Chevrolet Suburban and a black Volvo sedan with tinted windows and black rims, sheriff's officials said.
Detectives are also investigating the legality of the victims' marijuana grow operation, which consisted of about 100 plants.
Anyone with information about the case can call Sgt. Ryan Elder at (408) 808-4500 or call anonymously to the sheriff's tip line at (408) 808-4431.
