Suspects Sought In 2 Armed Robberies In Pleasant Hill
PLEASANT HILL (CBS SF) - Police in Pleasant Hill were searching for suspects in connection with two armed robberies Wednesday morning at a Subway restaurant and a Wells Fargo ATM machine.
At about 6:20 a.m., police received a report of a robbery in front of a Wells Fargo bank at 699 Contra Costa Blvd. A male victim was standing in front of the bank's ATM machine when a man approached him, brandished a hammer and demanded cash from the machine, police said.
The victim handed him an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled the area in an orange imported car, police said.
The robber was described as a white male aged 35 to 45 years old, measuring about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing around 135 pounds with a thin build.
During the robbery, the man wore black clothing and a dark-colored motorcycle helmet.
Less than two miles from the bank, at around 7:10 a.m., two men entered the Subway at 1300 Contra Costa Blvd., confronted a female cashier with a tire iron, threatened to hit her and demanded cash.
Police said the employee handed the suspects an unknown amount of cash from the register and the pair ran out of the restaurant.
The pair got into an older model red subcompact car parked in a nearby parking lot and drove away in an unknown direction, police said.
One suspect is described as a man in his early 20s measuring about 5 feet 5 inches tall with a small build wearing a black hat, coat and gloves. The second suspect is a man with no further description.
