Suspect Sketches Released In Concord Park Attack
CONCORD (BCN) - Concord police have released sketches of two men who stabbed a 47-year-old woman in Baldwin Park on Sunday during a robbery attempt, and are asking for the public's help in identifying them, Concord police Lt. David Hughes said.
The victim was sitting alone on a picnic bench in the park at about 5:30 p.m. when two men who appeared to be homeless approached her.
One of the men demanded personal property from her. When she refused, one of the men attacked her, stabbing her multiple times with an unknown object, Hughes said.
When the men ran off, the woman went to a hospital across the street and police were notified. She is expected to survive.
Officers searched the park and other locations in the city, but didn't find the suspects.
The first suspect was described as a white man between 30 and 40 years old. He is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes, a thin, gaunt face and was missing several upper teeth. He appeared to be wearing very dirty clothing, including a dark gray hooded sweatshirt.
The second suspect was described as a Hispanic man about 30 to 40 years old. He is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 190 to 200 pounds. He is heavyset with dark brown hair and eyes, a goatee and a light beard. His clothing was also described as very dirty and included a white T-shirt, a black long-sleeve undershirt and dark pants.
