Suspect Search Leads To San Jose School Lockdown
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) - Overfelt High School in San Jose was on lockdown as police search a nearby neighborhood for suspects seen in a stolen car, police said.
The search was taking place in an area bordered by Bermuda Way, Orlando Drive, Ocala Avenue and King Road, police spokesman Sgt. Jason Dwyer said.
Overfelt High School is at 1835 Cunningham Ave. in San Jose.
The incident began at about 11:25 a.m. when police received a report that several males in a car had possibly brandished a gun, Dwyer said.
Officers located the car, determined it was stolen and tried to pull it over, he said. The occupants fled the car on foot and ran into the neighborhood that is now being searched.
One was taken into custody, but police are conducting a yard-by-yard search for at least two other suspects, Dwyer said.
