Vallejo Police Shoot, Kill Domestic Violence Suspect
VALLEJO (KCBS) – Vallejo police shot and killed a suspect early Wednesday morning following a domestic violence call.
Sgt. Kevin Coelho said that at approximately 2:55 a.m., police received a domestic violence call of a male hitting and possibly choking a female at 142 Buss Avenue.
After responding to the scene, police received a second call that the male suspect had driven to a nearby Safeway at 709 Lincoln Road West and was parked near the gas pumps. The caller advised that the suspect was armed and provided a vehicle description.

Officers contacted the suspect, who has since been identified as 44-year-old Marshall Tobin, They said he appeared distraught and officers could visibly see a handgun.
Officers ordered the suspect to place his hands on his heads multiple times, but he did not comply.
They eventually deployed a taser and despite activation, the suspect reached for his handgun. Officers fired on him and he died from his wounds.
A Vallejo officer received a moderate wound from flying debris resulting from the shooting.
The incident is being investigated by the Solano County District Attorney's Office and the Vallejo Police Department and the officers involved have been placed on administrative leave.
