A woman suspected in the 2023 fatal stabbing of a man inside his home in Pleasanton was arrested, authorities said Friday.

The incident happened on May 1, 2023, at the Park Hacienda Apartments on the 5700 block of Owens Drive. Pleasanton police said

Pleasanton police said in a press statement it was initially believed the victim, 32-year-old Edevion White, had been fatally stabbed during a robbery by two male suspects wearing ski masks. Following a year-long investigation, detectives determined that was not the case and that the victim and suspect knew each other, police said.

Last month, the department said it had received an anonymous tip about the case and urged others to come forward with any information.

On Thursday, police arrested the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Kennedy Stith, at her home in Oakland. She was booked at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin on a homicide charge.

Pleasanton police acknowledged the Alameda County District Attorney's Office, the California Department of Justice, and California Highway Patrol's Special Operations Unit for their help in the investigation, and extended its condolences to White's family and friends.

No other details were provided about the investigation.
