Suspect Holed Up In Newark Motel Apprehended With SWAT Help
NEWARK (CBS SF) -- SWAT teams from Newark and Union City were called to a Newark hotel Sunday to help apprehend a wanted suspect, according to police.
Newark police were called to the Motel 6 at 5601 Mowry Ave. just after 8:15 a.m. to assist the California Highway Patrol in serving a felony warrant on a male suspect.
The suspect, whose identity has not been released, was considered armed and dangerous and was wanted for a violent crime.
The suspect failed to surrender, and SWAT teams were called in from Newark and Union City.
The suspect eventually surrendered peacefully to SWAT officers.
