Suspect Arrested In Fiery Bodega Bay Pursuit Crash
BODEGA BAY (CBS SF) -- A 35-year-old Santa Rosa man has been arrested in a high-speed Highway 1 pursuit that ended with a Sonoma County deputy's SUV careening into a Bodega Bay home and bursting into flames.
The Sonoma County Sheriff's Department announced Monday that Ryan Moore had been taken into custody. The injured deputy, meanwhile, remained hospitalized with serious injuries, but was expected to make a full recovery.

Deputies said the pursuit began while they were investigating the theft of several generators from a Bodega Bay campground over the last two weeks.
Moore was allegedly in a Honda Pilot and attempted to flee at speeds reaching 100 mph from deputies early Sunday morning. During the pursuit a deputy lost control of his SUV shortly after 5 a.m. in the 600 block of Highway 1 near Smith Brothers Road.
The vehicle careened off the highway and into the lower level of an Airbnb rental. Moore allegedly drove off, fleeing the crash scene.
The rental and was occupied by three sleeping tenants from San Francisco. They were awoken by the loud crash into their home, but they weren't injured. A second patrol deputy was able to force the front door open and get them out as smoke enveloped under the patrol car and the home started to catch fire.
At about 9:00 a.m., State Parks Rangers found the Honda Pilot abandoned at a construction site in the 300 block of Bay Vista Lane in Bodega Bay.
Sonoma County Sheriff's Office detectives responded and determined the Honda was stolen out of the Santa Cruz area. Two portable generators believed to be stolen from the Doran Beach campground, were located in the vehicle.
The vehicle was processed for evidence and other leads were developed potentially identifying the driver that fled as Moore.
The detectives determined Moore lived in the 3900 block of Monet Place in Santa Rosa. Detectives conducted surveillance of his home and at about 3:30 p.m. they observed Moore leaving as a passenger in a 2015 Toyota Sienna van.
Detectives stopped the van with three occupants inside as they pulled into an industrial park off Coffey Lane in Santa Rosa and took them all into custody without incident.
The van was determined to be stolen out of the San Pablo area. All the occupants were transported to the Sheriff's Office to be interviewed. After the conclusion of the interviews it was determined Moore was the driver of the stolen Honda Pilot that led the deputy in a pursuit prior to the collision into the house in Bodega Bay.
Moore was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for charges to include reckless evading causing great bodily injury, willfully resisting a peace officer which caused serious bodily injury, possession of a stolen vehicle and and a probation violation. He remains in custody and bail was set at $110,000.
The driver of the stolen Toyota minivan, 32-year-old Anthony Stone of Vallejo was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of a stolen vehicle). His bail was set at $10,000.
Angelica Cardiel, a 31-year-old Santa Rosa resident, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. She had a methamphetamine pipe located in her purse at the time she was detained. Cardiel was booked and then issued a citation to appear and released from custody.
Detectives were still investigating the case, determining who else might have been involved in the thefts and are trying to identify the owners of the likely stolen generators located in the Honda to return them.
