Suspect Arrested In Fairfield Murder Of 13-Year-Old Girl
FAIRFIELD (CBS SF) - Anthony Lamar Jones, the accused killer of 13-year-old Genelle Conway-Allen, will be arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Solano County Superior Court, Solano County District Attorney Donald A. du Bain said Friday afternoon.
Jones, 32, of Fairfield, was arrested around 7 a.m. Friday in the 1100 block of East Tabor Avenue in Fairfield, Fairfield police Sgt. Matthew Bloesch said. Police have not said how the Suisun City teen died, but said they believe Jones acted alone.
Jones was booked at 2:04 p.m. in the Solano County jail on suspicion of murder, kidnapping to commit rape, rape and lewd and lascivious acts on a child, Solano County sheriff's spokesman Lt. Brad DeWall said.
Jones is being held under no bail and he will be evaluated to determine where he will be housed in the jail, DeWall said.
A jail inmate classification system takes into account the charges against an inmate, DeWall said. For safety purposes, an inmate charged with killing a child would likely be segregated from other inmates, he said.

Jones was a possible suspect in the teen's death early on and he was put under 24-hour surveillance, Fairfield police Sgt. Rebecca Belk said.
Allen's unclothed body was found around 6:45 a.m. Feb. 1 in a parking lot on the south side of Allan Witt Park in Fairfield. She was last seen at the intersection of East Tabor Avenue and Grande Circle in Fairfield, police said.
Friends and family held a candlelight vigil Friday evening at Allan Witt Park.
"Finally with tears in our hearts, we can now begin to say goodbye to sweet Genelle," the teen's foster family said in a statement Friday.
"The murder of a 13-year-old little girl assaults the very core of who we are and what we stand for as a community," du Bain said Friday afternoon.
Both Allen's family and du Bain thanked the Fairfield and Suisun City police departments for their investigation.
The arraignment Wednesday is at 1:30 p.m.
