Suspect Arrested After Yuba City Hostage Situation Ends
YUBA CITY (CBS Sacramento) -- A gunman who allegedly held two people hostage inside a Big 5 Sporting Goods store in Yuba City on Sunday is in police custody after surrendering.
Two females were being held hostage at the store located at 1252 Colusa Avenue. Police say the incident may have started as an attempted robbery. One shot was fired.
SWAT officers surrounded the store and worked to evacuate shoppers from the parking lot.
The suspect came out of the store with his hands up at around 3 p.m.
Two to three victims were removed from the building. No injuries were reported.
