Surveillance Video Leads To Arrest In Fremont Burglary
FREMONT (CBS SF) -- Fremont police arrested a burglary suspect on Thursday after the release of surveillance footage on Wednesday brought in more than a dozen tips from the community.
The video released Wednesday afternoon showed a suspect burglarizing a Fremont home on the 4100 block of Eggers Drive on Saturday around 12:30 p.m., according to police.
The suspect is seen in the video rummaging through a drawer and then removing items, police said.
Almost immediately after releasing the video police began receiving phone calls, and by Thursday more than a dozen tips had come in.
The tips led to the arrest on Thursday of Richard Andres Banuelos, a 28-year-old police described as a Fremont transient.
He was arrested around 1:30 p.m. at the Fremont Islander Motel and booked on suspicion of residential burglary.
