Surfer Dies After Rescue At San Francisco's Ocean Beach
SAN FRAANCISCO (CBS SF) - A surfer who was pulled unconscious from the waters off of San Francisco's Ocean Beach on Wednesday afternoon has died, according to the medical examiner's office.
Jonathan Luhn, 44, of San Jose, was identified Thursday as the man who was spotted floating in the water at about 1 p.m. Wednesday.
A good Samaritan brought him into shore, called 911 and started doing CPR, San Francisco fire Lt. Mindy Talmadge said.
Luhn was taken to the University of California at San Francisco Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday, but the official cause of death might take weeks to determine, according to the medical examiner's office.
