Super Bowl Loss Still Haunts Harbaugh Despite Starring At Pebble Beach
PEBBLE BEACH (CBS Sports) -- Less than a week after coming yards from winning the first Super Bowl championship of his coaching career, San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh has positioned himself to capture another title this weekend.
After two rounds of the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Harbaugh and Jason Day stood atop the leaderboard of the amateur tournament at 18-under (124).
Harbaugh admitted that he still hasn't recovered fully from the 34-31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in New Orleans.
"I've been really enjoying myself, at times thinking about the game, at times about how we can get an edge for next year," Harbaugh told The Golf Channel. "It left a pretty big bruise. We have some regret, but it's a new day and I have to forge ahead."
This week marks the first time Harbaugh has picked up a golf club since he participated in the event last year.
"I'm just hitting and hoping, I had a bunch of lucky bounces," said the 49ers' coach, who is among a small contingent of NFL luminaries at the tournament.
