Student Arrested In Rohnert Park School Knife Fight
ROHNERT PARK (CBS SF) - Two students were arrested following a fight involving a knife at Rancho Cotate High School in Rohnert Park Thursday, Rohnert Park police said.
The two male suspects brandished a knife during a fight with another male student at 11:20 a.m. The victim was punched several times before being cut with the knife by one of the suspects, police said.
The fight was not gang related and the motive is still under investigation, police said.
The victim was treated for the cut and released on the school campus by an ambulance crew.
One suspect was arrested at the scene and transported to Los Guilicos Juvenile Detention Center on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a tear gas weapon, police said.
The knife was recovered at the scene.
The second suspect returned to the school at approximately 3:55 p.m. with a parent to turn himself in, police said. He was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center and booked for assault with a deadly weapon.
