'Star Trek: Into Darkness' Teaser Released
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Trekkies (or Trekkers if you prefer) have something to get excited over. Along with "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," the teaser trailer for J.J. Abrams' upcoming "Star Trek" sequel, "Into Darkness," has been released. Visual effects and animation for the film are are currently in production by San Francisco-based, Industrial Light & Magic (ILM).
The trailer gives a good first look at franchise newcomer "Sherlock's" Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the film's villain.
"You think your world is safe. It is an illusion," Cumberbatch's voice states in the trailer. "A comforting lie told to protect you. Enjoy these final moments of peace. For I have returned to have my vengeance."
The trailer also reveals some familiar faces: Chris Pine as Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, and Zoe Saldana as Uhura.
