Stanford's Jeanette Pohlen Headlines Pac-10 Awards

WALNUT CREEK (CBS / AP) ― The Stanford women's basketball team is taking home three of the Pac-10's top awards after another perfect run through the conference.

The league announced Tuesday that Stanford point guard Jeanette Pohlen won Pac-10 Player of the Year, forward Chiney Ogwumike was named the conference's freshman of the year and Tara VanDerveer was honored as coach of the year.

Arizona senior Ify Ibekwe won defensive player of the year.

Pohlen is the fourth straight Cardinal to win the Pac-10's top honor after guiding No. 2 Stanford to its second straight 18-0 regular season in the conference. She has averaged 15.8 points and 4.8 assists per game this season.

Stanford has a double bye in this week's Pac-10 tournament and won't play until Friday's semifinal.
