South San Jose Residents Tied Up During Home Invasion Robbery
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Three suspects invaded a South San Jose home Wednesday morning, tied up the residents and stole a vehicle and possibly some firearms, a police spokeswoman said.
Police believe that the suspects in the robbery, who are still at large, were acquainted in some way with the residents of the home, San Jose police Sgt. Heather Randol said.
"It's a very weird situation," Randol said. "The suspects are possibly known to the victims."
Police received a report of a home invasion robbery at about 8:14 a.m. Wednesday at 1145 Angmar Court, a few blocks south of the intersection of Capitol Expressway and McLaughlin Avenue.
According to Randol, the three suspects entered the two-story home, then bound the residents' hands and made off with their personal property, Randol said.
The suspects drove away from the home in the stolen vehicle, Randol said. The residents somehow freed themselves and contacted police, she said.
They suffered minor injuries from the pressure of the bindings, but did not require medical attention, Randol said.
Some schools in the area were in session, but police did not request any lockdowns, Randol said.
The Police Department's robbery unit is investigating the case.
