Sonoma County Supervisor In Court After Prowling Arrest
SANTA ROSA (CBS / AP) -- A Sonoma County official arrested on suspicion of prowling and burglary at a woman's house has made his first court appearance.
No charges were filed Thursday when Supervisor Efren Carrillo appeared in Sonoma County Superior Court for proceedings that lasted less than five minutes.
Prosecutor Cody Hunt asked for more time. Hunt said that he and Carrillo's defense attorney agreed to return Aug. 30.
Judge Gary Medvigy ordered Carrillo to stay away from the woman who called 911 early Saturday to report a shirtless man had tried to break into her bedroom window.
Carillo blamed alcohol for his "embarrassing" behavior and said he was seeking professional treatment.
The 32-year-old was arrested last year after a fight outside a San Diego nightclub left a man unconscious.
