Sonoma County Authorities Say Evidence Supports Woman's Claim She Was Raped, Held Hostage At Santa Rosa Compound
SANTA ROSA (KPIX 5) – Authorities said newly obtained evidence backs up the story of a woman who said she was kidnapped and held for weeks at a compound in Santa Rosa. The woman said she escaped Wednesday after being beaten and sexually assaulted.
"The victim had some injuries that were consistent with sexual assault," Sgt. Cecile Focha of the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office told KPIX 5.
According to authorities, the 22-year-old woman said she was kidnapped at gunpoint, held hostage at the home on Stony Point Road for three weeks and was raped. She told police that she was able to escape through an open door.
Sonoma County deputies came to the compound Thursday with the swat team. Investigators said they found evidence the victim was recently at the compound. Two men were arrested, but only on unrelated charges as investigators try to sort out the case.
A woman whose mom lived on the property told KPIX 5 that someone would have noticed if a woman was being held captive, because the house investigators searched always had a door open.
Neighbors too afraid to be identified told us the large wall went up right after the current owners moved in a few years back. The amount of traffic in and out of the compound raised eyebrows, but no one expected this.
