Snoopy, Charlie Brown, And All The Peanuts Live On Via Social Media, 64 Years After Their Creation
SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- The comic strip 'Peanuts' was first published on October 2nd, 1950 but 64 years later, the gang is going strong thanks to social media.
Creator Charles M. Shultz passed away six years before Twitter and Facebook became publicly available -- in 2000 at his home in Santa Rosa, north of San Francisco. With his passing, the world also lost any fresh comic strips, though many newspapers continue running "best of Peanuts" strips every Sunday or even more often.
Still, Shultz' life's work leaves behind enough sentiment, bittersweet observations on life, and simple yet powerful wisdom to be applied to anything that comes up today, and the Peanut's Twitter, Facebook, website, and Instagram feeds are as relevant and fresh as they can be, thanks to a clever team repurposing Shultz' iconic material.
So, on this anniversary of the birth of one of the most well-known comics of all time, why not reconnect with the gang on social media?
