Small Quakes Shake Sonoma, Santa Clara Counties
(CBS/BCN) - Two early morning quakes shook different ends of the Bay Area Thursday.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.9 struck in Sonoma County.
According to the USGS, the quake rattled an area two miles east of The Geysers at 4:11 a.m.
Hours earlier, an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.5 struck in Santa Clara County.
According to the USGS, the temblor rattled an area seven miles east-southeast of San Jose at 1:31 a.m.
The quake had a depth of 5.0 miles, according to the USGS.
