Small Quakes Shake Lake County
SANTA ROSA (CBS/AP) -- Two small earthquakes jolted a remote area of Northern California on Sunday, startling residents in Lake County.
The U.S. Geological Survey said a magnitude-3.9 quake occurred at 4:01 p.m. Sunday and was centered three miles northeast of the Geysers geothermal development and four miles west of Cobb.
It came a minute after a magnitude-3.0 quake that struck the same area.
Dispatchers with the Lake County Sheriff's department refused to say whether they received any calls reporting damage or injuries.
Jessica Stottsberry, a manager at Hardester's Markets and Hardware in Cobb, said she saw wine bottles and plants rattle on the shelves. She said the quake didn't cause any damage to the shop.
