Small Earthquake, Aftershock Hit San Jose Area
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) - A small earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.2 rattled an area near San Jose Wednesday morning and was followed by an aftershock, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The temblor, recorded at 9:31 a.m., was centered about 10 miles east of downtown San Jose and had a depth of 5.3 miles, according to the USGS.
A 1.6-magnitude aftershock was reported just a minute later in the same spot, according to the USGS.
