Small Early Morning Earthquake Near Milpitas

MILPITAS (CBS 5) — The U.S. Geological Survey reported a small earthquake struck Monday morning in Santa Clara County.

The tremor was centered about six miles east of Milpitas and occurred at 6:12 a.m.

It had a magnitude of 2.0, according to the USGS.

The epicenter was located five miles northeast of Alum Rock and nine miles northeast of San Jose City Hall.

According to the USGS, the quake had a depth of 3.6 miles.
