SJSU Student Body Vice President Arrested On Domestic Violence Charge
SAN JOSE (KCBS) -- The student body vice-president of San Jose State University was arrested last week on suspicion of domestic violence and violating a protective order.
The Mercury News reports that 23-year-old Joshua Romero was arrested at the Event Center during a concert by rapper YG.
San Jose State police say security noticed Romero preventing a woman from leaving, then used some level of physical violence. Police are not releasing any other details, but did say the victim is a 20-year-old San Jose State student.
Campus police were able to secure an emergency restraining order to protect the victim, but was able to get a hold of a phone while in jail, and called the victim a number of times.
Romero was elected to the San Jose State Associated Students leadership for 2016-17. He is a political science major.
