SJSU Chosen To Host Cyber Challenge Camp
SAN JOSE (KCBS)— San Jose State University is one of a handful of universities across the country chosen to host a Cyber Challenge Camp this summer.
To get into the camp, contestants first have to pass a qualifying round called cyber quest. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano invited students to participate in the cyber challenge during a visit to San Jose State earlier this week.
SJ State Spokeswoman Pat Harris said it was the first time the university has hosted a cyber security camp and that the program works with academic and private sector partners to identify and develop cyber security talent.

"Part of the cyber challenge involves an intensive summer camp which is for the best and brightest of the cyber talent. San Jose State will be hosting one of these camps this August for up to 100 lucky students," Harris said.
She added that the university's newly-inaugurated President, Mohammad Qayoumi sees cyber security as a hub in which co-curricular programs could be built.
Contestants must be at least 18-years-old and U.S. citizens to enter.
