Lockdowns Lifted At San Jose Schools Following Nearby Burglary; 3 Arrested
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) - Three San Jose schools lifted a precautionary shelter-in-place order Monday afternoon after a trio was arrested for a nearby burglary, police said.
The schools began to shelter in place after the burglary was reported in the 1300 block of Wylie Way around 10:10 a.m.
Police said the victim reported that suspects had forced their way into her home while she was inside. The victim ran outside and called police.
The suspects fled in a vehicle and were believed to be near Payne Elementary School.
Payne, located at 3750 Gleason Ave., enacted its shelter-in-place procedures, as did two other nearby schools -- Anderson Elementary School at 4000 Rhoda Drive and Discovery Charter School at 4021 Teale Ave., Moreland School district officials said.
The three suspects were eventually arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property, and the schools were given the all-clear from police at about 12:20 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
