Sinkhole Closes Intersection In San Francisco's Richmond District
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A sinkhole has shut down an intersection in San Francisco's Richmond District Monday evening, a public utilities spokesman said.
Police and fire crews have re-routed traffic around the intersection of Lake Street and Second Avenue where the sinkhole was reported, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission spokesman Tyrone Jue said.
It is believed that the sinkhole was caused by an old 21-inch sewer line failure.
