Singer Joan Baez Hurt In Fall From Woodside Treehouse
WOODSIDE (AP) -- 1960s songbird Joan Baez was "resting comfortably" at an undisclosed location after falling 20 feet to the ground from a treehouse—a treehouse she purposely had built without walls because she wanted to sleep among real birds at her Woodside home.
The 69-year-old Baez was climbing down from the platform Wednesday when she plunged to the ground. The San Jose Mercury News reported Baez suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from Stanford Hospital.
Nancy Lutzow runs Baez's production company and told the Mercury News that Baez was resting Thursday at a secure location.
Baez is known for such songs as "Blowin in the Wind," "Forever Young," "Diamonds & Rust" and "Sweet Sir Gallahad," and once had a relationship with rocker Bob Dylan.
