Silicon Valley Leaders Push American Tech In India
SAN JOSE (KCBS) – A high tech trade mission to India kicking off this week features Silicon Valley companies.
One of the technologies being tested in India is from Mountain View-based Intuit. The service, called GoConnect allows small businesses in India to send messages to customers on their cell phones. Umang Bedi with Intuit India said that GoConnect has been wildly popular.
"Customers are actually responding to these offers because they find them highly personalized, and that's one of the reasons that businesses are experiencing the success that they are," said Bedi.

U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke is leading the trade mission to India this week to promote more exports of U.S. technologies.
"The truth is that India has tremendous economic growth and a large and growing middle class, and therefore is really a key market," said Courtney Gregoire with the Department of Commerce.
Intuit, as well as Palo Alto-based Palantir Technologies, a maker of spy-tracking software, are two of 24 U.S. companies participating in this week's trade mission.
