Sheriff's Deputies Hurt, Traffic Blocked In Danville I-680 Crash
DANVILLE (CBS SF) - Two Contra Costa County sheriff's deputies were injured in a crash on Interstate Highway 680 near Danville Wednesday afternoon, a sheriff's spokesman said.
The crash was reported at about 1:50 p.m. when a sheriff's patrol vehicle overturned on northbound Highway 680 just north of El Pintado, Contra Costa County sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee said.
Two deputies, one male and one female, had to be extricated from the car, Lee said.
Both were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, Lee said.
As many as four lanes were blocked for more than an hour while the crash was cleared, CHP Sgt. John Carman said.
No other vehicles appear to have been involved, Carman said.
All lanes reopened at about 3:15 p.m., and the crash remained under investigation by the CHP.
