SFPD Wants Tougher Requirements for Nightclub Permits

More guards, more visible cameras, metal detectors, even ID scanners, are among the requirements the San Francisco Police Department wants for the city's night club operators. KCBS' Barbara Taylor reports The tougher security measures police proposed during a meeting Thursday with Mayor Gavin Newsom and club operators are meant as an antidote to a wave of violence that's claimed several lives at clubs and events from Fisherman's Wharf to the Cow Palace.
