SFPD Seeks Help In Golden Gate Park, Richmond District Homicides

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5 / BCN) -- San Francisco police on Friday renewed a call for information to help solve two unrelated homicides, one in Golden Gate Park in 2008, and another last December in the Richmond District.

On Nov. 29, 2008, Brandon Lee Evans was attending an outdoor party at a horseshoe pit near Conservatory Drive in Golden Gate Park.

Evans went to his car to retrieve something at about 11 p.m. and was shot, police said. He managed to return to the party, where he collapsed.

The mayor's office has now authorized a $100,000 reward for information about the identity of the suspects responsible for Evans' death that leads to an arrest and prosecution, police said.

Police also Friday released the photo of a 37-year-old San Francisco man fatally shot in the city on Dec. 1.

Travis Del Rio was found dead inside an apartment in a four-unit building on 23rd Avenue near Anza Street at about 9 p.m., according to police.

Police said neighbors reported hearing gunshots and seeing a black Mercedes speeding away from the area.

No arrests have been made in either case.

Anyone with information is asked to call the homicide detail at (415) 553-1145, the anonymous tip line at (415) 575-444, or text a tip to TIP411.
