SF Sandwich Shop's 'Harbocalypse' The Latest Tribute To 49ers Coach
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - Ike's Place has been serving up a new creation, the Harbocalypse, in advance of the San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl match against the Baltimore Ravens.
Jim Harbaugh already has a sandwich named for him dating from his days coaching at Stanford University. Bring an appetite to Ike Shehade's Castro District shop if you plan to sample this latest Harbaugh tribute.
"This one has fried chicken. It's got a sweet chili glaze, bacon, avocado and pepper jack cheese," Shehadeh said, wary that his creation might not completely satisfy its namesake.
"He'll like it if he eats it, if he likes chicken. Hopefully he's not a vegetarian."

When the Giants were headed towards the World Series, he had to rework a sandwich recipe for Tim Lincecum.
"He ended up hating mushrooms, so we had to change the sandwich," Shehadeh said.
The occasional misstep aside, he is a man who tends to be very popular at tailgate parties. And his reception in Louisiana this Sunday should prove no different.
"As you can imagine, I will be bringing a dozen or so sandwiches with me to New Orleans," he said.
There will be Kaepernick vs. Flacco sandwiches this weekend as store manager Mikey Curtain mans the counter at the corner of 16th and Sanchez streets while the boss is away. And for the record, Curtain will be rooting for the Ravens.
"'Cause I'm from Baltimore originally," he said.
But back to the Harbocolypse. It turns out to be more sweet than spicy, fitting as San Francisco fans await a sweet victory with an order of crow for any outspoken Baltimore fans.
