SF Officers Fire Shots at Armed Suspect
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) _ San Francisco police fired shots at an armed suspect Saturday morning after an early morning chase through the city.
Police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said that officers spotted a suspicious vehicle around 5:30 a.m.
"They were in the area of Geary and Laguna when they observed a vehicle that matched the description of a carjacking vehicle," said Esparza. "The officers attempted to conduct a felony stop on the vehicle and at that time, the suspect's vehicle fled their apprehension."
Esparza said the officers chased the vehicle through the Mission District and into Potrero Hill, where the car went off the roadway on Arkansas Street.
Two male suspects, one of which was holding a gun, tried to flee. Officers opened fire, but didn't hit the gun-toting suspect.
Esparza said they were able to apprehend the second suspect, but are still looking for the one who was holding the gun.
The initial carjacking happened Friday night around 10 p.m. in the Ingleside neighborhood.
